The Adorned Branch of Hōrai (蓬莱の飾る枝, Hōrai no Kazarueda) is an advanced nature kekkei mōra, which is created by simultaneously combining the earth, fire, lightning, water, wind, and yin-yang natures. The techniques of this nature generally are composed of a black, malleable chakra, which have the inherent ability of negating ninjutsu. Hiruzen Sarutobi has also noted that techniques produced by this nature produce a similar effect to Dust Release.

Seireitou has stated is that this technique is the key toward "acquiring everything in this world and that world". It literally allows for its user to utilize the Yin-Yang Release in the same manner as the Gudōdama, albeit with a far greater efficiency, as it manifests as a black aura that can be freely manipulated. Essentially what this technique does is infuse one's will into the original Gudōdama, which allows Seireitou to utilize its changes in shape freely instead of being confined to limits.

Variants[]

This kekkei mōra allows its user access to the Truth-Seeking Ball (granted they also possess senjutsu).

  • Kaguya Ōtsutsuki is thought to be the originator of this ability. Black Zetsu noted that she could use this ability to give birth to new dimensions.
  • By becoming the jinchūriki of the Ten-Tails, one automatically acquires this advanced nature, hinting that it may not be genetic, as kekkei genkai are.
  • Similarly, those who gather together the chakra of the nine tailed beasts into one body can produce this advanced nature.

Influences[]

One of the suitors that relentlessly pursued Princess Kaguya and her hand in marriage was requested by the latter to locate a jeweled branch from the mysterious Hōrai Mountain. However, such a thing was considered an impossible feat to accomplish, for nobody truly knew the location of this place. Only stories were told about it. There is no pain and no winter; there are rice bowls and wine glasses that never become empty no matter how much people eat or drink from them; and there are magical fruits growing in Hōrai that can heal any disease, grant eternal youth, and even raise the dead. There are some versions of the myth that state the atmosphere of the place is made up, not of air, but of "quintillions of quintillions" of souls. Breathing in these souls is said to grant one all of the perceptions and knowledge of these ancient souls. While no plans have been made yet, the author has confirmed that these are ideas that play a role into the true nature of this technique, although it shall not be revealed quite yet.
