The Ancestral Spirit Technique (祖霊の術, Sorei no Jutsu) is a forbidden technique, primarily utilized by the Order of the White Snake, which allows the practitioner to draw upon the power of an ancestral lineage. The technique is performed by using a sample of blood to serve as a medium between the desired ancestral line and the practitioner. High ranking members of the aforementioned cult use gemstones formed from the crystallized blood of the White Snake Sage for use in the technique, while some other members simply use blood from their personal summons. In doing so the cultists are able to assume various aspects associated with snakes, along with a general augmentation of their power. The cult uses this as manner to further emulate their deity.
Alternatively, during his many encounters with the group Kazuhide managed to copy the technique and unravel its mechanics. After researching the technique, he discovered that is was originally utilized to allow the practitioner to access the accumulated power of their own ancestral line. In turn though the user risks being overwhelmed by the collective, resulting in the destruction of their own soul. As such, only users with an immensely steadfast will can manage utilizing the technique without concern. Kazuhide, in particular, is rewarded with an extremely impressive boost in power, due to this noble lineage, but can only maintain the technique for a limited amount of time as the collective wears on his spirit. While under the effect of this technique the intensity of all his technique are greatly enhanced, and he's noted that his visual prowess is especially augmented. In addition to his personal usage, it is believed that his daughter's Rinnegan activation is directly linked to Kazuhide channeling chakra through her while under the effect of this technique. He's speculated that the chakra of the ancestral line stimulated her optic nerves, resulting in the dōjutsu's awakening.
