Aotsuchi (青土, Aotsuchi) is a ninja from Iwagakure and one of its head Jōnin. He is renowned for his use of Dust Release, a kekkei genkai he shares with the Third Tsuchikage. He was in Raian Getsueikirite's original Genin squad, under the leadership of his aunt, Kurotsuchi.

Appearance

Aotsuchi is a blond headed, golden eyed shinobi from Iwagakure. He wears the typical Iwagakure ninja flack jacket underneath a yellow, hooded coat. He also wears yellow shorts. On his hip, he wears a larger-than-usual shinobi weapon's pouch, which is similar in size and use to Deidara's weapons pouch. He usually has a cheery demeanor about him which makes him well liked in his village.

Personality

Aotsuchi is a hyper-active, energetic young ninja who often uses his art to express his feelings. Like Deidara, whom he regards as "Deidara-senpai", he is obsessed with his art. This is not a negative thing, because his obsession with it has lead him to mastering his kekkei genkai and his own personal ninjutsu style. His easy-going, energetic personality can often annoy his more serious friend, Raian Getsueikirite, though the two are close regardless, due to having known each other for so long. After the incident in which Raian's brother, Nagato, is killed in a battle, Aotsuchi is the first person to console him and offer some words of comfort.

Even as a Jōnin, he is extremely casual around his comrades and even ninja of higher rank in the village, referring to Ōnoki as "pops" and Kurotsuchi by her given name, something that seems to annoy her despite her being his aunt. He greatly dislikes mission paperwork, though he loves to throw parties and drink. Despite all of this, Aotsuchi can put his easy-going personality away when the times call for it, such as war or battle, and take on a more serious and cunning demeanor.

Abilities

Dust Release

His greatest talent, Aotsuchi is a master of the Dust Release kekkei genkai. He uses it in a unique manner that is different from Ōnoki's version. Instead, Aotsuchi uses his Dust Release to form his Dust Dolls which he can then use in a variety of ways. He can use them as explosives, which, when detonated, will cause high-speed shards of shrapnel to shred the insides of whoever is hit by it. He can also arrange the dolls into different formations in order to use Dust, Earth, and Wind Release techniques. The dolls can be used as a distraction, a form of communication, and even to form his Dust Doll Clone Technique.
