The bats are a very fearsome summon as they strike fear into the hearts of many. The bats reside within the Kyotogato Mountain rage. There are temples there in which the bats hang, the architecture of these temples are similar to that of feudal Japanese temples. The mountains are naturally carved out due to erosion of water. so the sun doesn't shine within the mountains however in order for students to the Elder Bat to see there is a natural "glow" stone that emanates light. However the students are taught to not rely on their sense of sight, this is also used to combat sight based genjutsu as bats utilize echo location in order to "see" which means that sound based genjutsu is very effective against bats.
