Benten (弁天, Heavenly Dialect) is a unique Uchujutsu and is the most powerful of amongst its type. Said to be the Ephemerally Bounded Authority of Possibility and Impossibility (泡沫制限権限の可能と不可能, Utakataseigen Kengen no Kanō to Fukanō), it is the antipode to Benzaitennyo.

Overview[]

Benten allows the user to perceive the infinite amount of parallel realities. In doing so, the user can see every possibility that has happened in the past, is happening in the present or will happen in the future, and exchange it with the "reality" the reside in. Exchanging any instance of a current reality will remove it from the realm of reality and lock it from the totality of possibility. Despite being locked away, the user can add said possibility back to the totality of possibility by exchanging it with another reality. The power of this technique is so extreme that it can even extinguish the effects of Izanami.

Variations[]

Drawback[]

Usage of this technique induces incredible pain and temporary and extreme but not total cellular breakdown of the body. While this damage is reversible, it takes time to do so.

Influence[]

Based on the Many-worlds interpretation, it is an interpretation of quantum mechanics that asserts the objective reality of the universal wavefunction and denies the actuality of wavefunction collapse. Many-worlds implies that all possible alternate histories and futures are real, each representing an actual "world" or "universe". In layman's terms, the hypothesis states there is a very large—perhaps infinite—number of universes, and everything that could possibly have happened in our past, but did not, has occurred in the past of some other universe or universe. Many-worlds views reality as a many-branched tree, wherein every possible quantum outcome is realized.
