Chi chakra is a unique type of chakra possessed by members of the Murakami Clan. It takes on the appearance of red, translucent flames.

Abilities

Chi chakra is able to be released as visible energy from the bodies of its possessors, and manipulated for attack or defense purposes. It is also able to be channeled into swords forged by the Murakami, vastly increasing their cutting power. It has an energy density that is comparable to that of Tailed Beast chakra. It has also been shown to cause burning damage, despite not being fire-natured. As such, techniques which make use of it are highly destructive. It can be released as blasts of energy from the swords. Its most advanced manifestation is the Yata Armor, which activates in the final stage of the Ketsugan

Chi Chakra also serves as protection against chakra draining techniques. Due to the fact that it cause burning damage, anyone who tried to absorb Miyuki's chakra will be scalded from the inside out. This was because it is impossible to remove chakra from a member of the Murakami clan's body without removing Chi Chakra as well.
