The user opens with a normal, straightforward attack, yet at the last moment performs a quick step sideways, leaving behind an afterimage on the spot of the original step. This allows to trick enemies, whom will estimate the striking area of the attack incorrectly, and will be surprised as they find out the strike is instead received a few meter to the left or right of where it should be. The entire process is similar to Cloud-Style Reverse Beheading, only this attack is performed sideways, not backwards.
This technique is presumed to be based off the original Unshūmusan technique of the same name, like many other kenjutsu attacks within the Cloud.
