The Dance of the Clematis: Vine is a technique that can only be used by members of the Kaguya Clan. The user of this technique can modify and pull out his/her spinal column to use as a flexible chain staff, regrowing a new spine to replace the removed one. The protrusions on the vertebrae are usually modified to make them both stronger and sharper. This technique is usually followed up with the Dance of the Clematis: Flower to pierce the immobilized opponent.

Rukia Kaguya's Version[]

Rukia Kaguya has an enhanced version where she first pulls out her spine then breaks into two halves. Then she will send Shikotsumyaku chakra into each half making them grow to the regular length of a human spine. After this is done the Shikotsumyaku chakra will cause the sharp edges of the spine to rapidly spin and vibrate much like a chainsaw. This allows her to use the spines as whips that are able to easily sever the limbs of a target.
