Dust Release: Detachment of the Primitive World Technique |
Dust Release (塵遁, Jinton, Viz: Particle Style) is an advanced nature kekkei tōta, an advanced version of kekkei genkai, which is created through simultaneous use of the earth, wind, and fire natures. The techniques of this nature initially form as a small three-dimensional object (e.g. a cube, a cone, etc.) composed of chakra that forms between the user's hands. When the technique is released, the form expands and surrounds the target. This nature allows the user to manipulate molecules, giving them the ability to disintegrate anything on a molecular level within the boundaries of the three-dimensional form.
Dust Release techniques seem to require a certain amount of time when preparing the three-dimensional object, making it possible to prematurely halt the technique before it is completed, but once it's finished, the technique can be fired with astonishing speed. The hands also play a crucial role in preparation of techniques, interfering with the user's arms can hinder the technique. Dust Release techniques seem to be rather chakra-taxing.
Trivia
- Many presume that it is possible that these techniques are not genetic, as Ōnoki stated that Mū passed the secrets of Dust Release on to him. However, it is far more likely that Ōnoki simply meant that Mū helped him refine his Dust Release to be more akin to his own.
- Further, Kū and Kakō, both fabrications who were created with Ōnoki as their genetic template, were able to use Dust Release, thus reinforcing the genetic nature of Dust Release.
- Several abilities in Naruto, such as Lava Release and Magnet Release, appear in multiple villages with unrelated users while maintaining the status as an ability derived from a bloodline, thus making it that a skill described as more advanced than a kekkei genkai would somehow not be derived from genetic factors seem even more unlikely.
- Dust Release shares the same romanization as Swift Release.
