When looking through the scrolls of Orochimaru's jutsu, Josho came upon the Eight Branches Technique. Unable to perform the full-scale jutsu, having not experimented with his body as Orochimaru had, he instead tinkered with it and invented the Eight Branches Summoning Technique. Rather than transforming himself, he instead summons a snake identical to the Eight Branches Technique, though on a far smaller scale, it it still quite large. While it's smaller than the original, it is still larger than Rashomon Gate, and still strong.
Sasshomaru observed Josho use this technique, adding it to his arsenal.
