Word Techniques (語術, Gojutsu) are unique techniques Kogomei in battle, through use of her Kasei no Hon, and Kasei no Fude. Her techniques are often compared to Shodōjutsu, but it is quite different, as she can give her creations life itself, through use of he paintbrush.
By writing words with her unique tool, she is able to empower her techniques with that word. For example, using a [[|Trait Seal|certain gojutsu]], in the form of "No Heat", she is able to take away the heat trait of fire, making it useless. She can also use the word "exponential" to make her ninjutsu more powerful. She gained the ability of flight, by writing "flight" beside her name in her Book of Change, which it bestowed upon her by use of its Yin Release chakra, to make her physically capable of flight.
Its also known that certain words can't be used as a Gojutsu, such as "Invincible" and "Immortality", among many others, as words suchs as these just won't take effect. The reason behind this is unknown, but its assumed that its in place to keep someone from becoming like a deity.
