The Hasu Clan (蓮一族 Hasu Ichizoku) is a clan in Tsutagakure, making up a good majority of its population. Many of the members of this clan possess the Kekkei Genkai for Hanagan; as such, some of the more advanced Hanagan users offer separate classes in Tsutagakure's ninja academy specifically to train their dōjutsu.
Overview[]
The Hasu Clan was founded by Kenju Hasu, who came across Tsutagakure- then known as Tsutamura- by accident. Invited to stay there by the village's leader, Motoichi Asari, Kenju decided to settle and make it his permanent residence. Since then, the Hasu Clan has grown to the point that 67% of the population is made up of them.
Abilities[]
The Hasu Clan possesses a unique dōjutsu- the Hanagan. Said to have been born when Kenju Hasu's wife, Miya Hasu, fell ill and was cured with a Yamura Lotus during her pregnancy, the Hanagan has been passed down for generations, appearing in nearly all members of the clan.
Aside from this, the Hasu Clan also possesses two unique nature releases- the Yoshino Release and the Ashi Release. Yoshino Release has been found to be more prominent in girls than boys, while the reverse is true for Ashi. In most cases, Yoshino Release can only be accessed after obtaining stage 2 of the Hanagan, and Ashi Release after stage 3. However, in some rare cases, the members of this clan do not acquire the dōjutsu yet still are able to use the releases.
Unlike most clans, the Hasu Clan is born without access to chakra. Until they are ten years old, they cannot use ninjutsu or genjutsu, and must resort to taijutsu. In the case that a descendant of this clan is not around peers possessing this dōjutsu, he or she will be unable to activate it alone.
Characteristics[]
Members of the Hasu clan are born with black hair and black eyes. Once the Tsuru Hanagan has been activated, the eyerides change to a dull green. With each new stage, the irises of the user change to a brighter green that matches their dōjutsu.
