Keiko Uchiha (うちはけいこ, Uchiha Keiko) was a citizen of Konohagakure's Uchiha Clan and the mother of Kimi Uchiha.
Background[]
While in a relationship with Fugaku Uchiha's brother, she became pregnant and later gave birth to Kimi, her motherly instincts compelling her to raise the child alone. Her life prior to her relationship with Fugaku's brother, or the reason(s) why her lover didn't marry her or help her raise Kimi are largely unknown. Kimi, however, mentions Mikoto helping out her mother financially from time to time.
She is seen accompanying Kimi to the village's gates for her first mission, this being the last time she would see her daughter before the Uchiha Clan Massacre.

During the massacre, she is mortally wounded by either Itachi or Obito at the Uchiha compound, but manages to stay alive long enough until Kimi's arrival from her mission, after which she told her to run away as far from the village as possible, survive and become a strong kunoichi, so that she may one day "do what must be done". With her dying breath, she told Kimi she'll always be with her.
Personality[]
Keiko cared deeply for Kimi despite apparently being abandoned by her lover, showing signs of a devout and caring mother. Kimi mentions her mother being somewhat playful, always telling her to do "missions" in preparation for her life as a ninja, the "missions" themselves being just regular domestic chores, which sometimes caused Kimi to complain, her mother replying jestingly "That's how all great shinobi started their careers!".
