Kuma (クマ, Kuma) is a chūnin-level shinobi from Ishigakure, and partner of Genzai and Hanabatake during the All Shinobi World Exam.

Background

Kuma was born in a small farming village, as son of a father member of the Uemon clan who had left the Land of the Moon many years ago and a mother who had been retired from the post as Jōnin after an accident during a mission, which committed her hearing and her reflexes. When made 6 years, Kuma's mother realized that he possessed skills to become a shinobi, but declined to enroll the child in Iwagakure's Shinobi Training Programme, and opted to register him at Ishigakure's Academy. Kuma graduated from the Academy at age nine, and won the Chunin Exam with fifteen years.

Appearance

Kuma has long spiky hair, dark blue in tone. He is great due to the fact that eating too much and be adept to sedentary lifestyle (although this does't hinder his performance in missions). Kuma is also always wearing a red Flak jacket worn by Ishigakure shinobi and also the Forehead Protector of the same color.

All Shinobi World Exam

Ishigakure's military force never cause envy in the other villages (mainly in the Five Great Nations) which explains the constant attacks that the village suffers from Kusagakure's and Amegakure's shinobi. Due to a large increase in birth rate and the number of immigrants in the country, the number of genins and chūnins increased greatly, and Tanoshī Kuriharu, the village's head, decided to put 10 Ishigakure's teams in the All Shinobi World Exam, hoping his subordinates won awards and become chūnins or jōnins. Kuma was one of the chūnins called by Kuriharu to represent his village, and he readily accepted the mission. So Kuma became a member of Ishigakure Team 3, making him partner of Genzai and Hanabatake.
