The Land of Mountains (山の土地, Yama no Kuni) is a country to the south of the Land of Fire and the Land of Wind. It is very mountainous, as the name suggests. It has two great rivers and hundreds of ravines. It was a primitive land until the First Mazuka united its major clans in his new village. The Land of Mountains is one of the largest and most powerful countries in The Shinobi World. Its main hidden village, Yamagakure, is the home of the Mazuka Clan.
The Land of Mountains is appropriately oriented towards the element of earth, typically having very dark and rainy weather. While not the largest country, it has the second largest largest hidden village.
The Land of Mountains has been involved in wars with the Lightning Country. Soon after its formation, the Land of Mountains was attacked by the exceedingly powerful group, the Kagekenin. This group destroyed anything in their path and killed countless people. It was stopped by Yamagakure's Second Yamakage, who was killed in the incident.
In the harsh years that followed, the Land of Mountains slowly recovered and became accustomed to war. This was seen by other countries who had been working to increase their military power — as a strength.
The major families/clans that reside in The Land of Mountains are the Yama, Tsurugi, Mazuka, Amejouten, and Hyomenka's. Notorious for their dojutsu (eye technique) the Mazuka posses, their secrets have been sought out for many years by rival countries. The most well-known clan in Yamagakure are the Mazuka with their power of the Taifugan and knowledge of Yin Release jutsu. Besides their ninja forces the land of mountains also maintains one of biggest and best equipped conventional armies of the six shinobi nations.

History
Not a whole lot is known of the Ninja in this nation. The Mazuka Clan have lived in the Land of Mountains for hundreds of years. After many years, finally a man arose that could wield the clan's two Kekkai Genkai, the Taifugan and the Yin Release (it is rare to have both in the Mazuka clan). This man, known as the First Mazuka used his power to conquer the land, and at it's heart, he created Yamagakure.
Yamagakure, also known as the Village Hidden in the Mountain, is a hidden village that is almost literally carved into a mountainside, known as Goddessdrop Mountain. At first it was a mining village, but as the Mountain Country started being attacked by thugs and bandits, the need for a hidden village was apparent. For nearly fifty years, the village was peaceful, the only conflicts its ninja faced being outside of the village.
Ninja
The ninja here specialize in Earth and Lightning jutsu. At least half are missing-nin.
