Physical Prowess
Oni (鬼, Oni) is a shinobi of the Tokudaiji Shogunate Oni clan. Like his fellow clansmen and women he was reanimated from the dead by the clan priest. He previously was a shinobi who was killed a conflict between a Samurai clan and invading Kumogakure forces.
Background[]
Oni was a shinobi living in a shinobi estate granted by the Daimyo of Tanaka ruled by the ruling Tanaka Samurai clan. He was later killed during the Saru war while fighting Kumogakure shinobi. The clan priest later revived him. He served the Tokudaiji Shogunate and was assigned operations within the land of Lavender. He was married though it is unknown what happened to his wife and daughter after his death and subsequent reanimation.
Personality[]
Oni personality from when he was alive is unknown, but following reanimation he has taken on a cold, uncaring and emotionless view of the world. He has no quarrels with killing but isn't shown to specifically enjoy the act of killing. He also has no issue with killing anybody including innocent civilians if they see him during a mission or get in his way.
He also has a strong hatred for Shinobi who use chakra, due to him being killed while fighting Kumogakure shinobi. He views it as dishonorable and goes out of his way to kill every shinobi who uses Chakra. He is also shown to be extremely calculated and intelligent and cunning. He is also shown to be extremely patient waiting for months even years for the perfect opportunity to kill his target.
Appearance[]
Oni appearance prior to reanimation is unknown, but he appears as a lean built male wearing black paints with the lower portion rolled up. He like the rest of his clan mates are covered with bandages to protect their identities and hide their necrotic flesh. He is seen with bandages wrapped around on his legs just above the knees and is wearing a Konoha style flack jacket with samurai style armor on his shoulders and upper arms and around his neck. He wears white gloves that covers his hands, and his face is covered by a white Oni mask with the lower portion showing the top portion including his head is wrapped with bandages the mask's two horns are protruding through and the bandages are tied into a knot behind his head.
He is also seen wearing a long cloak, a fur coat, a hooded cloak, and a plain kimono, wooden sandals and a hornless Oni mask with the eye slits bandaged completely and a bamboo hat.
Abilities[]
Oni was highly skilled prior to his death and was capable of fighting multiple opponents simultaneously, he was also skilled in use of swords and various other weapons. Like other Shinobi of Land of lavender he refused to use and train in Chakra as it was seen as dishonorable even for Shinobi. After his reanimation his skills greatly were improved.
Like other member of his clan he is capable of superhuman feats such as strength, speed, dexterity, stamina, and agility though he tends to favor stealthy approaches to combat. He is capable of avoiding detection and killing multiple opponents stealthy and without noise. Like other members of his clan, he is capable of controlling detached limbs limitedly. He could also reattach limbs easily, and like his clansmen has lost the ability to use Chakra completely upon reanimation.
Physical Prowess[]
Oni is highly skilled in taijutsu his fighting style and approach are unpredictable and are difficult to read even Sharingan users have a difficult time reading his movements he also will change his fighting style mid battle to confuse opponents. He is also heavily skilled in use of swords and throwing weapons and is able to outmatch most swordsmen as seen with Sasuke as he easily disarmed and knocked him out after encountering him in Kawa. He is also capable of dodging oncoming and incoming attacks and despite the bandages on his face is capable of detecting opponents and fighting basically blind.
Intelligence[]
Oni is highly intelligent, and cunning he is capable of predicting enemy movements, and behaviors and adapting his fighting style as need be. He is also capable of sitting up complicated traps to trap or kill opponent's. He is also knowledgeable of enemy skills and abilities and uses this knowledge against them and to plan highly complicated strategies.
Part I[]
Following Konohagakure's execution of Naruto Uzumaki following the failure of the first Sasuke retrieval mission. Oni is seen observing several Root ANBU near the border of Land of Lavender he manages to kill four and capture the female member and interrogate her before beheading her. He is later seen stalking Team Guy as they are escorting a businessmen and his wife to Land of Waves the pair are later revealed to be wanted criminals by the Tokudaiji Shogunate. Oni sets up a trap which incapacities Team Guy and he kills the two criminals with ease.
Oni is put in charge of Team Oni for the Chūnin exams held in Takigakure, among his team are Hantāresu Fukurō, Sara Ōkami, and Taranchura Kumo, they managed to dominate the competition due to their skills and brutal training regime and style of fighting. Oni is spotted by Kakashi Hatake but refuses to answer his questions and shows his annoyance by stabbing his sword through the hotels wall.
Part II[]
Konohagakure whos execution of Naurto has come back to haunt desperately needs allies to fight off Iwagakure and Kumogakure who allied with a rebuilt Otogakure. The Konohagakure diplomatic team stops in Kawa after traveling by boat through land of waves. Oni attacks Sasuke after he stalked the team from Konohagakure. He defeats Sasuke and Rock lee with ease before alerting Tanaka samurai and vanishing. He later is present when the Shōgun is meeting with the Konohagakure diplomatic team and stops her bodyguard Daichi from killing Kiba for making advances on her. He later kicks Kiba in the face and breaks his noise in the process.
He and Team Oni are assigned to keep an eye on the Konohagakure diplomatic Team and intervene in Itachi Uchiha and Kisame Hoshigaki attacking a local village outside of Koydai the capital of the Tokudaiji Shogunate.
Fourth Shinobi World War[]
Oni was assigned by the Shōgun to accompany her to the meeting Kage meeting to discuss the issue with the Akastuki. Despite initially refusing to assist the Tokudaiji Shogunate agreed but refused to be under the command of the Allied Shinobi force instead operating independently. Oni was placed in command of a volunteer shinobi-samurai force to fight against the Akastuki, however the real reason the Tokudaiji agreed to help was to destroy Konohagakure in revenge for killing Naruto as the Shōgun was revealed to be a reincarnate and vengefully Hinata Hyūga, Oni slaughters the other Kage and is driven off by Mifune who knew what they were planning from the start. He later engages and severely wounds Kakashi and Might Guy after a short taijutsu fight. Oni is later seen over the ruins of Konohagakure with a bloody tantō.
