A phoenix as depicted in the series
Phoenixes (凰, Ōtori), also known as hō-ō (鳳凰) are a rare species of bird that reside on Mount Enigma.
Appearance[]
Phoenixes are quite large, and most are bigger than humans. Some phoenixes are so large, in fact, that they can block out the sun as they fly over an area. This makes them ideal as a means of transportation. In terms of their features, most phoenixes are covered in a beautiful plumage of pure white feathers, and long, elegant tails trailing behind them.
Abilities[]
Phoenixes are masters of the Fire Release, so much so that they are considered to be more skilled with it than dragons. They have developed a fire technique that is similar to Amaterasu, the Sacred Fire. The flames that phoenixes produce, like Amaterasu, cannot be extinguish by normal means, and can continue burning even when underwater. Phoenixes are also immortal. However, if they sustain enough damage in battle their bodies will disintegrate, and the phoenix will be disembodied. The phoenix's body will reintegrate in a random location. They have also mastered the use of natural energy, and can enter a Sage Mode unique to them.
