Shujitori Kuramitsu (クラミツ シュジトリ, Kuramitsu Shujitori) is a genin of the Leaf Village, but has his origins in Yamagakure.

History

Born in the distant Village Hidden in the Mountains, Shujitori had a rather unhappy childhood. When he was but a year old, an evil man and his underlings invaded the village, killed the Kage and many citizens, including Shuji's father and mother. The invader took over as the new Kage, while Shujitori, being the last heir of the Kuramitsu clan, was left under the care of his cousin, Mei.

Despite the Kuramitsu clan's prosperity, being the Village Hidden in the Mountains' former equivalent of the Hyugas or Uchihas, Shuji was treated as an outcast. He never really knew why, but it probably had something to do with the fact the bird he was partnered with, a secretary bird, was considered a halberd of chaos and war in his village. Nevertheless, he cared for his partner, whom he named Squark, like a brother. Squark and his cousin were really his only friends.

When Shuji finally graduated from the ninja academy, something horrible happened after the graduation ceremony: he was attacked by a group of other students. Luckily, a few teachers saved him, but he walked away with a literal scar on his left arm. It was then Mei felt she should tell him the truth. Unwilling to serve under the man who killed his parents, he asked Mei if they could move. She could not, but suggested that Shuji run away on his own.

For five years, Shuji traveled with Squark in the wilderness, only making contact with humans in the form of bandits who attacked them or ninja who were too busy with their missions to talk to him.

Part II

Arrival in Konoha

A week before his 18th birthday, Shuji stumbled upon the Village Hidden in the Leaves. The very first person he met was Hinata of the Hyuga clan. They quickly became friends. After a while he also met Hinata's sister, Hanabi. They too became friends.

Soon enough, since he was still a genin, he was put into a squad. Along with Reijobiki and Ryuu Kazan, he was put under the tutorage and leadership of Anko Mitarashi. For a while, he greatly admired Anko, but that soon enough blossomed into love. A one-sided love, but love nevertheless.

Battle with the Tiger's Shadow

One day, Team Anko was attacked by several sound nin, including Tora Kage. Their goal: kill Anko. Shujitori, finding no proper opponent, stayed in a defensive position for most of the fight. However, just when Tora was about to inflict a fatal blow on Anko, Shuji took the blow for her. She feigned unconsciousness, while Shuji was put into a blind rage, thinking his sacrifice was for naught. His Kekkei genkai started to activate, but he was stopped by a blow from Neji Hyuga, who then agreed to allow Tora to partially heal Shuji and Anko, rather than take them directly to the hospital.

Shuji does not know that it was Tora who saved his life. He swears vengeance for what Tora did, however. For a few days after the attack and a hospital visit in which he and Anko learned a lot about each other, Shuji just explored the village some. Then, during a mission, Anko was kidnapped for seemingly no reason. When Shuji and the rest of the rescue squad went to retrieve her, Shuji got into a battle with Tora. Shuji finally achieved the requirements of his kekkei genkai, and battled Tora in both of his saurian forms. In the end, it wasn't enough. Had it not been for the medic-nin that had come on the mission, Shuji would have died.

Hyuuga Debacle

Later, when they all had returned to the village safely, Shuji received a summons to the Hyuga Manor. There, he was told Hinata had been arranged to marry Neji. With Hinata, Hanabi, even Neji being upset by this action, Shuji had no choice but to stand up for Hinata. Hiashi made Neji fight Shuji, for Hinata's right to choose whom she would wed. While Shuji lost to Neji, Hiashi saw something in Shuji that made him call the wedding off.

Mere minutes later, Hinata was kidnapped by the substitute Akatsuki member Keiru, as bait for Naruto. Shuji made chase, and was about to confront Keiru in front of Ichiraku when Neji came and saved Hinata. Shuji, figuring that since Hinata was safe, he was just a civilian in the way of letting the higher ups catch a criminal, so he followed the two Hyugas home to ensure Hinata was safe.

After ensuring Hinata was safe Shuji returned to his apartment only to find his complex obliterated due to a force unknown to him. He then went to ask Anko if he could stay with her until he found a place. She agreed. However Ryuu, who also shared the apartment with their sensei, was displeased due to his dislike of Shuji's attraction to Anko.

Changes to the Team

After several months, Shuji's infatuation to Anko slowy dissipated, sorting out his feelings and deciding he only cared for Anko as a student. He found his love pop up in a new place- Hinata. However, she did not return this love, with her being in love with Naruto. This phased him a bit, but he didn't mind, and continued to be her friend, supporting her. Still, he felt empty without someone to love.

Ryuu eventually saw it fit to leave Konoha, seeing Anko as his only reason for staying. Normally this would not have effected Shuji but Ryuu did something horrible as he left- he crushed the Konoha hospital. It was apparently in an attempt to kill Shujitori who was hospitalized at the time. Shujitori felt no ill will towards Ryuu but more or less felt as if he had lost a brother.

Ryuu was soon replaced by a special jonin, Iburu of the Illusion. Reijobiki, too, was replaced when she decided to get a new sensei. She was replaced by Seika. Shujitori grew attracted to the young woman and through Anko's influence Seika grew attracted to Shuji. And so the two became a couple.

Pain Invasion arc

When Pain invaded Konoha, Shuji, along with Seika, assisted in evacuating citizens to the Hokage's Faces.

Abilities

Kuramitsu Style

Shujitori employs the Kuramitsu's unique style of combat. The goal of it is to confuse the opponent by circling around the foe and intermittently harming them slightly with projectile attacks, similar to how birds of prey break turtle and snail shells by picking them up and dropping them, breaking the shells slowly. The combat style employs several clan jutsu, the Kuramitsu's bird partner, and wind style ninjutsu.

Ancestral Transformation

As a last ditch style of combat, Shuji utilizes the clan's kekkei genkai "Ancestral Transformation". Using it, Shujitori uses some of Squark's chakra to transform into a dinosaur. In his Utahraptor form, he "hunts" his foe as if they were prey. Once in range, he'll leap upon them and tear them to shreds with his foot claws. In his Therizinosaurus form, he's more of a brawler and uses his immense hands to slap his foe around in addition to using blasts of chakra from his claws. In his "Unbelievable" form, he takes the appearance of triphibian- an ancient creature that could survive on land, in the air, or underwater. This form is not used in traditional combat as in it Shujitori has almost no control. In fact, he has not yet once used it on purpose because of how difficult it is to control.
