"It's better to have no hope and gain a new hope then having a false hope."
— Sokudo

~Wildcard

Sokudo Namikaze (速度, Namikaze Sokudo) is a shinobi descending from the Namikaze Clan, and a shinobi from the Village Hidden by Mist. Being one of the Namikaze people, she was born with the gift of speed, becoming one of the fastest shinobi by far. Her mastery of the Flying Thunder God Technique, combined with her usage of the Kiba, makes her a deadly force.

Sokudo is one of the legendary Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist (霧の忍刀七人衆, Kiri no Shinobigatana Shichinin Shū), being the wielder of the Kiba, also referred to as the Twin Lightning Blades. Her Namikaze blood made her an interesting asset to Kirigakure when they first found her, abandoned. Sokudo is currently one of the most formidable Kunoichi in the Shinobi Continent.

Background[]

Academy Years[]

Born in the summer afternoon of the last day of August, Sokudo was brought into this world and immediately abandoned. Soon after her birth, she was placed in a carriage and sent away from the Namikaze lovers that had brought Sokudo into this world. The carriage was found not even two hours after Sokudo had been abandoned by shinobi from the Hidden Mist Village. At first, the shinobi were unsure of what to do with the child, before they succumbed to a certain instinct, and took her back to their home village.

Upon the shinobis' arrival, they took the child to the Mizukage, and the gracious leader gave the child to a couple in Kirigakure. The couple raised the child as their own, treating her as if she was a royal princess. Sokudo showed signs of shinobi blood within her from a young age, as she could commonly be seen infusing her own chakra with kitchen knives. Upon discovery of Sokudo's shinobi blood, the Mizukage ordered for there to be a DNA test, to find out the bloodline of Sokudo. After the lengthy DNA test had occurred, the Mizukage was informed that Sokudo has blood from the Namikaze Clan. This discovery was startling to the Mizukage, as she now knew that Kirigakure would have a powerful asset.

Once Sokudo was of age, she was enrolled into the Kirigakure Academy, where even there she stood out. Her blonde hair acted as a beacon, combined with her natural beauty, she was often the target of shinobi who wished to impress her. Sokudo, being the innocent child she was, dismissed this, and simply saw it as childish stupidity. Sokudo proved to be a prodigy from a young age and was even able to defeat her teachers. This fact did not go unnoticed, and this made its way to the higher ups, specifically the Mizukage.

Sokudo attended the Genin Academy for two years, and at the young age of seven, Sokudo graduated from the academy when she was simply seven, an outstanding accomplishment considering her age. After graduation, Sokudo was placed on a team of Genin, and this was when her diva personality, saying that she did wish to attend certain missions of which she was assigned. Her diva-like personality was shattered after a mission. Sokudo's team was assigned a B-rank mission, as to the Jonin teacher's request. The mission was infiltrate Iwagakure, steal a document, and return, a relatively simple mission. However, this mission was easier said than done, as the mission quickly went south quickly.

It started off well, the team making it into Iwagakure relatively quickly. Upon arrival, everything went haywire. An Iwa-nin appeared from beneath the team, and more Iwa-nin stormed into the area. The Iwa-nin attacked, and so did the team. Sokudo used her understanding of a technique which her fellow clansmen made famous, the Flying Thunder God, as well as used her basic understanding of the Silent Killing technique to devastate the battlefield. After her seemingly tenth kill, the Iwa-nin showed they had a Dust Release user. Out of fear, Sokudo teleported herself away from the battlefield, and when she returned, she found the mangled corpses of her team.

Upon returning to Kirigakure, Sokudo was given immense sympathy from those around her, attempting to understand her pain. Sokudo was placed into another team, where she began to mask her sadness by consistently cracking jokes, and putting on a facade of happiness. This fake happiness eventually developed into actual happiness as time went on as Sokudo found herself bonding with her new teammates. They continued for a time, becoming close as well as completing countless missions. After a year, her new team was given the opportunity to enter the Chunin Exams, an event which the team accepted.

Chunin Exams[]

The Chunin Exams were regarded as one of the most important events for any aspiring Genin. Sokudo, alongside her team, were most likely the most prepared, as they had been training ever since they entered the exam. Seventy Genin had entered the exam, making it a lengthy exam. The Mizukage, wanting to reduce the amount of Genin recruited, brought forth a crowd of war prisoners, setting one in front of each of the Genin. The Mizukage commanded the Genin to kill the prisoners in front of them. Many hesitated, but Sokudo killed the war prisoner in front of her with no hesitation, using the Silent Killing technique to do so. The use of the Silent Killing technique caught the eyes of the Mizukage. Only twenty prisoners had been killed meaning out of the seventy Genin who had applied, fifty were disqualified.

The remaining twenty shinobi were first congratulated on successfully passing the makeshift first stage of the Chunin Exams. Once the gratitude had been spread, the Mizukage began to speak on the pressing matter at hand, the remaining exam stages. The Mizukage explained that there would first be a simple exam on Kenjutsu, and would eliminate ten more Genin. Afterwards, the remaining ten would engage in a free-for-all battle, until one shinobi was still standing. With all the relevant information relayed, they were dismissed and allowed an hour of training before the next stage would take place.

The hour that separated the murder of the prisoners and the next stage of the Chunin Exams were highly tense, many Genin ready to simply quit right there and then. However, this tense atmosphere barely impacted Sokudo, as she simply practised her Kenjutsu, ignoring the tense mood that floated about amongst the Genin. After the hour, which had seemed like years, had passed, the Genin were called out.

Once the Genin had been called out, the aspiring Chunins were placed in a room, where a Genin would be called into another room, where they would be assessed by the Mizukage themselves. As each Genin was called out, one by one, the others became more and more worried, thinking of failure. Sokudo did not allow thoughts of failure to plague her mind and instead chose to focus on thoughts of victory. After the other nineteen Genin were called, Sokudo was the last to go, and she was now to be assessed by the Mizukage.

As Sokudo walked through the door, into the room where she would be assessed, she couldn't help but a thought of doubt to pop in her mind. Sokudo quickly dismissed the thought and greeted the Mizukage. The Mizukage nodded in response and handed Sokudo two identical blades. As Sokudo took the blades from the Mizukage's hands into her own, Sokudo felt a sudden sense of belonging. As she admired the blades, she was attacked from behind. Sensing the incoming attack, Sokudo teleported from her initial position, reappearing behind her attacker, and almost instantly disarmed the attacker. The Mizukage nodded in approval as they dismissed Sokudo. Sokudo bowed and left the room.

Another hour passed. Another hour of almost complete silence, the only noises being the breath of the other Genin or the fidgeting feet of others. Once the hour passed, all twenty of the Genin were summoned and were called out in front of the Mizukage. The Mizukage cut straight to the point and dismissed ten of the twenty Genin that had gathered. Once there were only ten remaining, the Mizukage congratulated those who passed, praising each and every one of them. Once all of the Mizukage's praise had been spread, they told the Genin a phrase which echoed through their minds. "Kill each other."

The phrase reverberated throughout all of the Genin, even Sokudo was taken aback by this blunt statement. Once the initial shock had passed, Sokudo began to slaughter. She teleported behind two of the Genin and executed them both at the same time. The other seven Genin were taken aback by the speed of which Sokudo took to murder two of her classmates. All seven took a deep breath before charging towards Sokudo. The last sound those Genin heard was the chuckle of Sokudo as she rapidly teleported behind the Genin, executing them all within a few seconds.

Her cold-blooded murder did not go unnoticed, and the Mizukage took interest in this. Sokudo was the only Genin who passed the Chunin Exams, as the others had either been killed or dismissed. Eventually, Sokudo was promoted to the exalted rank of Chunin, which she took with pride. However, the fact that Sokudo had murdered her classmates with no visible remorse spread throughout Kirigakure, which Sokudo ignored visibly, although it secretly bothered her. Sokudo had become an outcast to the rest of society in Kiri.

Chunin[]

Sokudo spent the most of her Chunin career trying to redeem herself but despite her countless amounts of contributions to her nation of Kirigakure, she was still thought of as an outcast. She hated this and spent the next four years of her Chunin career attempting to redeem her fractured reputation. Once these four years had passed, and Sokudo was officially a Jonin, did her damaged reputation begin to repair itself.

Jonin[]

After her promotion to Jonin, her reputation began to repair itself as she was constantly sent to interfere with missing-nin, rogue ninja, and high-level infiltrations. She accomplished all her A-rank and S-rank missions with a consistent exemplary performance, and took on more missions often, and was her reputation began to repair itself, via Sokudo's excellence in combat. One incident which is regarded to have completely recreate her reputation is the Battle of the Raven's Bridge, which occurred in the remote village known as Kurasugakure (烏隠れ, Village Hidden in the Raven), when Sokudo was twenty years of age.

Sokudo, alongside a team of shinobi were sent to investigate allegations of there being a group of terrorists, and that these alleged terrorists were to make a pitstop in Kurasugakure. Sokudo led the team to the Hidden Village, where they all blended in with the mist. After hours of waiting, an explosion could be heard throughout Kurasugakure, and the Kiri-nin all charged in. As soon as they charged in, Sokudo's team members collapsed, writhing in pain. Sokudo looked down at the corpses of her now dead comrades. She noticed certain marks had been placed all over them, and she cursed under his breath. Now outnumbered ten-to-one, Sokudo braced herself for combat. Sokudo charged in, attempting to use her trademark attack of teleporting and Silent Killing. When she tried, she was elbowed in the ribs, shattering four of them. She collapsed on the ground, standing up slowly. As she attempted to repeat her attack, she was attacked once again, this time by a whole group. Her shoulders were dislocated, one of her kneecaps were broken, kunai in her neck and multiple broken limbs were the wounds she suffered.

Once all these wounds had been inflicted, something inside Sokudo snapped and she teleported with speeds thought to be impossible, and killed all of the terrorists at once. Once she was surrounded by their corpses, she collapsed to the ground, roaring in pain, before beginning to crawl her way back to Kirigakure. Sokudo was suffering from all these wounds, combined with internal bleeding, and she began to crawl to Kirigakure. Halfway through her journey, she was found by a group of Kirigakure shinobi and these shinobi took the near-dead Sokudo back to Kirigakure, and was admitted into a hospital. It took close to six months for Sokudo to have fully healed. The Slaughter of Kurasugakure became a famous incident amongst the Genin of Kirigakure. Sokudo's reputation had been recreated in a positive light, and she became a heroine to all of the younger children in Kirigakure, she being viewed as an indestructible kunoichi.

Sokudo seldom lost fights, and she always accepted a challenge. Her seemingly emotionless personality sent shivers down the spines of those who opposed her, and she always quickly mastered new concepts, grasping them with relative ease. Any battles which she lost, she would rematch her opponents, ending up victorious in the next match, due to her constant need to become stronger. These qualities made their way to the Mizukage, and the higher powers of Kirigakure—they saw great promise in Sokudo, and saw qualities which would make her a powerful and valuable asset to the legendary Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist. Sokudo's seemingly childish claims of becoming the most powerful kunoichi no longer seemed childish as Sokudo graciously accepted the promotion into the ranks of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen.

Upon becoming a member of the exalted Seven Ninja Swordsmen, Sokudo was given the Kiba, also known as the Thunder Swords. Sokudo showed great promise with the blades, able to utlilize a form of Kenjutsu most effective to these blades. Sokudo also shows mastery with these blades, able to channel her natural affinity for Lightning Release within the Kiba, which are imbued with lightning.

One of her greatest usages of the Kiba can been seen within the Broken Dragon Assault. This incident took place in Namidagakure (涙隠れ, Village Hidden in Tears), and is regarded as one of the greatest displays of Kenjutsu. Her task was simple, Sokudo was to infiltrate the village and remain there until she eliminated her target. Sokudo sneaked into the village, occupying one of the many huts situated in the village. Her target was an individual known as Remorse, an operative from Kirigakure. Remorse had stolen documents, and was to meet with Iwagakure to sell said documents.

Once her target had arrived, she stayed put, waiting for the shinobi from Iwagakure to appear. Instead, an army appeared, and a lone shinobi went to take the documents. Sokudo teleported from her location, appearing above her targets. She pulled out her two blades, and shot out streams of electricity from their tips. The bolts of lightning struck the ground, the two shinobi barely avoiding the attack. As she landed, she performed her famous tactic of combining her teleportation and Silent Killing to eliminate her targets. Once the fresh corpses collapsed, she was prepared to teleport away when she suddenly collapsed. Sokudo looked down on her leg, only to see a chakra suppressing seal, which would take an hour to dissolve. Sokudo stood up from her wounded position, and charged towards the army of shinobi.

Toku slashed through the earth techniques aimed towards her, her Kiba slashing through them with ease. She charged through the forces, slaying them all. After an hour of slaughter, the entire Iwa brigade had been slayed, and Sokudo had survived. The stench of the fresh corpses reeked throughout the air, and despite this, the horrid stench brought a sense of pride to Sokudo, symbolizing her greatest victory yet.

Sokudo made her way home, where rumours had already been spread like wildfire, almost everyone is Kirigakure now knowing of Sokudo's slaughtering of the Iwa Brigade. Sokudo's battle only became exaggerated, making her more and more famous as time went on. Many of the aspiring Kunoichi began to look up to Sokduo, aspiring to become like her. Sokudo's fame went as far as having a fanclub built in her name. This fanclub was viewed as a 'extreme' fanclub, as they had a sort of 'ritual' they would perform in her name. Sokudo herself had to interfere, and forced the fanclub to be disbanded.

Sokudo enjoys working with her fellow Ninja Swordsmen, and feels as if she belongs with the group as a whole.

Appearance[]

Sokudo Staring

The Speedster staring off into the distance.

Her almond shaped face has a subtle sense of beauty, possessing the delicate features of the Namikaze clansmen. Sokudo's blonde hair is a colour similar to a pale gold, acting as a beacon of beauty. Her icy blue eyes sends chills down the spines of those who would dare make eye contact with this femme fatale. Her beauty evolves over the course of time, and she is able to maintain a youthful appearance.

Sokudo Flustered

The Blonde...

Her main outfit composes of a white hoodie, which is covered by an aviator jacket of sorts. The jacket has patches of random locations, all of which she has visited. She dons a belt around her shoulders, for a multitude of reasons. The first being for a unique appearance the other reason being that Sokudo is able to flow chakra through the belt, and use it as a whip in combat.

Sokudo Confused

Confused when told she was to join the Seven Ninja Swordsmen.

Sokudo carries her two trusty blade, the Kiba at the side of her waists, able to draw them at a moments notice. By simply unsheathing them, a wave of lightning is thrust forward towards the opponent, her blades having the ability cut through almost anything, due to their lightning sharp finish.

Personality[]

Sokudo originally displayed a diva-like attitude, always wanting for things to go her way, and not wanting to risk her physical appearance for any sort of task. This attitude made her seem like a brat from a young age, and this aspect of her personality was most commonly seen during the time in which she was a Genin. After the death of her team as a Genin, Sokudo's personality did a complete 180, transforming from a bratty attitude to a more depressed attitude. Sokudo remained quiet for the first month after her teammates' death, and eventually, she put on a facade of happiness, in order to make others stop sympathizing with her.

This facade of happiness eventually degraded into an almost emotionless state, rendering Sokudo to be seemingly emotionless. This emotionless state heavily bothered all those around her, as she sent chills down their spine by simply being in the same room as them. This emotionless state has proved to be quite useful, commonly scaring the opponent, secretly lowering their guard. Not only that, to interrogate Sokudo has been proven useless, as her emotionless state renders her almost incapable of feeling emotion, and she doesn't give off any vital information to others and Sokudo is commonly and easily able to spread false information to others in order for any attack attempts to fail.

Despite the emotionless side of Sokudo, she has been noted to become flustered, and is a sarcastic individual. She is not easily flustered, but when she is, it is quite the sight to see, as she begins to stumble over her words, and tries to impress. Her sarcasm came hand-in-hand with the emotionless aspect of Sokudo, as she uses this to her advantage, distracting opponents as they engage in combat, her remarks usually striking a nerve within others. Once the opponent is angered, she uses the fact that the opponent attacks blindly to effectively win in combat, by going as far as breaking the spine of the individual who had dared to defeat her. Her personality gains a respectful side when talking to those she respects, two examples being two of her fellow swordsmen, Yosōi Chinoike and Fuyukodachi.

Abilities[]

Unique Traits[]

Speed[]

As with any member of the Namikaze Clan, Sokudo is regarded to as a 'speedster', as her Flying Thunder God is much faster than other users. This speed allows for her not only for finishing combat quickly without the use of Flying Thunder God, but also allows for her to process any information given to her at a rapid rate, and Sokudo has been noted to have an Eidetic memory due to her ability to process any amounts of information at a rapid rate.

This speed also allows for rapid healing, acting as a pseudo-healing factor of sorts, as in combat any wounds dealt to her heal in around ten minutes, however, the time period taken to heal varies depending on the severity of the wound dealt to Sokudo. This speed also allows for Sokudo to rapidly analyse situations mid-battle, and is able to predict the next move the opponent will do, due to her creating all the possibilities within her mind in a matter of seconds.

Kinetic Energy[]

Sokudo is the first of any member from the Namikaze Clan to display the ability to manipulate Kinetic Energy, able to displace and create kinetic energy at will. This allows for her to render opponents to such an extent where they cannot move, and can even create Kinetic Energy and use the created energy to boost her great speed.

Her ability to displace Kinetic Energy has proven to be highly helpful in combat, Sokudo often winning battle before they begin by absorbing all of the Kinetic Energy from her opponent. No matter on what Sokudo ends up performing using the Kinetic Energy, the final impact is devastating, either destroying the environment, or boosting her already great speed, or even increase the speed of her techniques cast.

This ability also allows for Sokudo to greatly increase the speed it takes for her cast jutsus to strike the opponent, allowing for the technique released to practically hit the opponent as soon as the technique is cast. In theory, Sokudo could manifest such a large quantity of Kinetic Energy, and use it to strike opponents with techniques that hit them before they are even cast, acting in a similar fashion to wormholes.

Taijutsu[]

For any shinobi, mastering Taijutsu is a valuable asset, and can change the course of a battle. Taijutsu came hand-in-hand with Sokudo's Kenjutsu, as Sokudo had worked most of her life by using some form of Kenjutsu. The Taijutsu Sokudo utilizes is most likely a combination of both Tai Chi and Krav Maga. Tai Chi is regarded as the fastest form of combat when the user is in contact with the opponent, and to be highly reactive. A good Tai Chi user follows their opponent so softly and perfectly they can react to the slightest shift in energy or tension without losing contact with the skin. However, Sokudo is not a good user. She is a master. She shows the uncanny ability to react to slight shifts before they even occur, which works perfectly with Sokudo's ability to process information at rapid speeds.

The other martial art of which Sokudo utilizes in her daily life, she uses Krav Maga. Krav Maga uses techniques with roots in aikido, judo, boxing and wrestling, along with realistic fight training. A skilled user such as Sokudo is able to use this martial art to such an extent, where they are able to break spinal cords with relative ease. By using the Krav Maga ability to adapt to almost any situation, she is almost never at a disadvantage, especially when she is working with her fellow swordsmen.

Genjutsu[]

Despite Genjutsu not being Sokudo's strongest suit, she is not incapable of using Genjutsu. In fact, some proficiency in the art can be seen in the Genjutsu she has acquired, the gaseous genjutsus, as well as two techniques which had been though to have been lost in time. Not only that, any Genjutsu cast on her shows little effect, most likely due to the speed of which Sokudo's mind processes information, and the rapidity of which Sokudo can realize that she is most likely in a Genjutsu.

TBA

Kenjutsu[]

As with any one of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist, Kenjutsu is arguably her strongest suit. As Sokudo has trained with the blade from a young age, Sokudo is able to pick up any blade, and easily use it effectively in combat. She usually flows her potent lightning chakra through the blade she utilizes at any given point, using it to slash through techniques thrust her way.

Once becoming a member of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen, Sokudo was given the Kiba, a pair of 'thunderswords' regarded to be the sharpest blades in existence. Once donning these blades, Sokudo's Kenjutsu was said to have evolved to another plane of existence. With the Kiba at her side, she was said to be unstoppable, as seen on a multitude of missions she went on with her fellow swordsmen. Sokudo is able to combine the lightning infused within the Kiba with her own lightning chakra, to create a form of lightning that is an emerald tint, and rivals the power of black lightning, said to be much more powerful than the latter. Sokudo has been seen talking to her twin blades, although she only does this when she is alone, or on a long walk. Only her two favourite comrades have seen her talking to her blade.

Ninjutsu[]

Sokudo has shown great promise when it comes to her Ninjutsu, able to effectively use her |Nature Transformation's with ease, often using the Kiba as a medium to increase the strength of her techniques. When combining her own Lightning Chakra with the imbued lightning within the Kiba, Sokudo produces an Emerald Lightning, and this lightning is of great strength, able to seal away incoming attacks. This form of lightning has also been documented to break through the greatest of defenses, able to pierce the Four Red Yang Formation with ease.

When Sokudo uses her Water Release, she shows the ability to devastate battlefields with her techniques, often leaving the opponent begging for mercy. Sokudo has also been noted to use her Kiba as a medium when using water release, creating a psuedo version of the Storm Release. Although the techniques are not concentrated, this version of storm release sacrifices accuracy and chakra control for raw strength, this variation of storm release easily able to shatter through the Four Red Yang Formation.

Quotes[]

"Nothing will fuck you up as much as the realization that there is no real reason the alphabet has to be in order."
— Sokudo
