Taiga Kamishiō (神潮大牙, Kamishiō Taiga) is a powerful jōnin-level shinobi who is native to Kirigakure. He is currently classified as a missing-nin, having left the village along with his sister after he was vilified by his clan and peers. He was born with the Curse Mark of the Sun, a powerful marking that greatly enhances his Fire Release and Scorch Release. He is the founder and leader of Tohoshi, an organization dedicated to helping those in need and eradicating the Uchiha Clan.

Background
Taiga was born in the village of Kirigakure approximately five years before the Fourth Shinobi World War. He is the son of Mei Terumī, the former Mizukage, and Hikaru Kamishiō, leader of the Kamishiō Clan. At the earliest stages of his life, Taiga was put under extra pressure since his parents were such big figures in the village. Everyone was always observing his actions carefully, expecting him to have the best behavior and grades. Even though Taiga faced constant pressure coming from nearly all sides, he trained very hard in order to impress his parents. As such, he became adept at several ninja techniques before he even officially joined the academy.
While he was in the academy, Taiga was subjected to the same kind of pressure that his parents and peers subjected him to as a young child. In the academy, however, he had to face scrutiny from his clansmen for possessing the Curse Mark of the Sun, a sign of bad omen within the clan. This animosity eventually spread throughout the village, resulting in Taiga being vilified by not only his clansmen, but other peers and villagers on a regular basis. To make maters worse, Taiga's mother was killed by Fuyuki, the current Mizukage, only days after he started the academy. After this incident, Taiga secluded himself from the village and mostly kept to himself, speaking only when spoken to. He would often skip his academy classes and train by himself in the woods, returning only to take exams. He attained the highest grades very easily, however, a fact that seemed to infuriate the other students and their families.
Personality
When he was a child in the academy, Taiga was very strong willed, in that he never let the negative words and actions of his peers get to him. He acted very mature for his age and showed a great level of self control; he never once lashed out of anger at a vilifier. He was actually found to be in a generally happy mood, which was normally showcased by the perpetual smirk-like smile which seemed to be affixed to his face. This was most likely fake, however, given the way he secluded himself from the villagers and references his childhood as "miserable and fruitless". Taiga did enjoy a good laugh, though, and would often laugh in the faces of his vilifiers in order to make them angrier. This led some to speculate that Taiga actually enjoyed the negative attention and remarks of his peers, although it was evident he did not. He was also very lazy during this time in his life and would avoid his duties as a shinobi using any means necessary. Regardless of his laziness, Taiga's strong will and his prodigious skill made him one of the strongest and most skilled young ninja in the village of Kirigakure. The fact that he seemed to attain these grades so easily infuriated many of his peers and fellow students further. Taiga seemed to be quite aware of this hatred and developed a slightly inflated ego during his childhood as a result.
Now that he has left Kirigakure and has become a Missing-nin, Taiga's personality has changed slightly. Generally, he is found to have a very serious demeanor which is devoid of any facial expression or emotion, including his trademark smirk he donned perpetually as a child. He has developed a very thick skin from the constant vilification he received as a child and, as a result, he no longer cares what people think of him. When he speaks to others, he speaks with a very serious tone and does not sugar coat his words for the sake of pleasing others. He tells it like it is, wether people get upset or not, and does not hide the true intent of his actions by using word play and other mind games. As a result, it is very hard to upset him, let alone infuriate him to a point where he loses control of his emotions. There are instances, however, where Taiga's patience has grown thin, causing his anger to rear it's ugly head. His anger is also easily riled when he is speaking of Fuyuki or is fighting with a member of the Uchiha Clan, since he has such a deep seated hatred of both. When his anger shows in such a manner, it tends to scare the people who know him well, especially members of Tohoshi, since they are not used to seeing him in such a light. Deep down, Taiga is a very kind and generous person who will give the shirt off his back in order to help a person in need, even if they are a total stranger. He is a naturally caring person who hates to see people, especially children, suffer unnecessarily like he did as a child and will readily put himself in danger in order to prevent the suffering of another. Taiga has also developed an enhanced level of ruthlessness since his childhood and is not above killing or torturing to achieve his objectives. He is not afraid of any opponents strength and is not one to be easily shaken by a display of power.
Appearance
Taiga is a muscular young man with a height and weight that is slightly above average when compared to others in his age group. He has short brown hair that is further accented by his piercing gray-green eyes which, on occasion, shift to a lighter shade of blue while in the sunlight. Strangely enough, women of his age group do not find Taiga to be that attractive, leaving him overlooked by the opposite sex quite often, an occurrence he has become accustom to and no longer cares about. This can most likely be contributed to his razor sharp teeth, each of which are sharpened to a point in a manner similar to Suigetsu Hōzuki. For clothes, Taiga wears a pair of black ninja sandals that are identical to the ones worn by Sasuke Uchiha after his training with Orochimaru. These sandals extend to just below his knees, covering his entire shin, and are covered by a pair of black pants. The pants are rolled up to just below his knees, while still covering the top of the ninja sandals, and resemble the pants worn by his former sensei, Chōjūrō. In addition, Taiga has two black weapon holsters, one on each leg of his legs, which he uses to store several weapons and medications. He also wears a gray belt just below his waist with two water bottles attached to it on his right side with three weapon pouches attached to it along the base of his back. Like the leg holsters, these pouches hold his various medical supplies, weapons, and scrolls. He wears a maroon, collarless t-shirt with a zipper which he leaves unzipped; this reveals a gray sleeveless shirt underneath. The shirt is accented with a gray stripe that outlines the entire length of the zipper. Lastly, Taiga also wears a pair of black fingerless gloves with metal accents on the top of the hands, resembling the ones donned by Kakashi Hatake.
In addition, when Taiga graduated from the academy and became an official genin, he wore a gray Kirigakure headband around his waist like a belt. After becoming a chūnin, however, he began to wear his headband around his neck like a necklace. After becoming a jōnin, Taiga then began to wear his headband on the side of his head in a manner similar to Zabuza Momochi. Since becoming a Missing-nin, however, he has yet to be seen wearing a headband of any kind.
Abilities
Taiga was was one of the most gifted young ninja in all of Kirigakure and was easily one of the strongest members of the Kamishiō Clan. Taiga, before he left the village, was becoming feared for his power and his strength has only increased since his departure. As such, Taiga is often hailed as a genius, even by the battle-excelling Kamishiō clan's standards, and this was evidenced by the speed at which he rose through the ninja ranks. He graduated from the academy at age seven, became a chūnin at age nine, and was promoted to jōnin at the age of fifteen. During this short and still expanding career, he amassed quite a large arsenal of techniques and the knowledge to use them. He excels at any tasks he undertakes and has little difficulty completing these tasks perfectly.
Taiga is hailed as a master of nature transformation and has mastered the natures of water release and fire release. He has mastered both of these natures and is skilled in their use, possessing the knowledge of how to use them in different situations. In addition, he has also mastered the use of his clan's kekkei genkai, Scorch Release, as well as their hiden technique, the Hydrification Technique. He has made several unique adaptations to the Hydrification Technique, including the Hardened Water Technique]], and has developed unique Scorch Release techniques. He is also quite adept at using his Curse Mark of the Sun and has found other uses for it other than enhancing his Fire and Scorch Release techniques. For instance, by utilizing his curse mark, he is able to negate or even absorb genjutsu. As such, he has become quite skilled at detecting genjutsu, namely genjutsu of the non-occular variety. Taiga also possesses a very high level of physical prowess and his strength has often been compared to that of Kisame Hoshigaki. He has been noted on several occasions to possesses enough strength to lift massive boulders and, on one occasion, an Uchiha Clan member whom was clad with a full Susanoo.
In terms of chakra, Taiga's total volume of chakra is quite large and far exceeds that of an average shinobi's chakra volume. His chakra volume is so massive, in fact, that it has often been compared to the chakra of Kisame Hoshigaki. This was most evident when, at the age of five, he already had enough chakra to use the Water Release: Water Wolf Bullet Technique, impressing his instructors. Taiga is also able to use many highly chakra-consuming techniques several times a day, such as Water Release: Exploding Water Colliding Wave and Fire Release: Searing Inferno Flame Blast. Quality-wise, Taiga's chakra is noted to be neutral but can be very repugnant repulsive when he is angry. Some sensor-nin have even described his chakra network as a skeletal beast of pure dread.
Intelligence
His career as a shinobi has greatly expanded his number of techniques and his knowledge, allowing him to handle virtually any situation. With this vast knowledge, Taiga has become very feared as a master tactician as he is able to create not only main plans but several other contingency plans as well, should his main plans fail. Often times, though, his comrades will complain that these plans are long and drawn out, sometimes bordering on convolution. This vast expertise allows him to almost effortlessly analyze an opponent's movements and battle styles and grants him the ability deduce a way to counter them in seconds. Taiga is also said to never forget a name and the face associated with it, a trait which is opposite of that to Konohagakure's Might Guy. His intellect has only increased since his departure from Kirigakure and only continues to increase with each passing day.

Nature Transformation
Like most other Kamishiō Clan members, Taiga has a natural affinity to water release. He has a great understanding of how to use water to his strategic advantage and can turn even barren wastelands into raging seas with the Water Release: Exploding Water Colliding Wave. Taiga's second nature that he awakened, the second most common nature of his clan, was fire release. By utilizing the fire, he can sweep away entire forests with a single breathe of his Fire Release: Inferno Flame Blast. He can also severely burn multiple enemies at once with the Fire Release: Phoenix Flower Technique, which he can fire in rapid succession if the situation requires it. Lastly, he has become adept in the use of his clan's kekkei genkai, Scorch Release. With this, Taiga is able to singe entire forests in an instant or deprive a target of water by using the Scorch Release: Desecration. In addition, he is also able to enhance his Scorch Release and Fire Release with the Curse Mark of the Sun, a strange marking which he was born with.
Hydrification Technique
Since he is from the Kamishiō Clan, Taiga possesses the knowledge and capability to use the clan's hiden technique, the Hydrification Technique. This technique, which was stolen from the clan by the Hōzuki, allows Taiga to turn his whole body, including clothes and other garb, into a liquid state. Essentially, any form of physical or sword-based attacks are virtually useless against him. He is, however, extremely susceptible to lightning release techniques. Taiga has developed a few different techniques that utilize the Hydrification Technique, including one to combat his weakness to lightning techniques. He conceived the Water Shotgun Technique, a more powerful version of the Water Gun Technique, once he mastered the latter. Instead of firing a lone bullet of water from the finger, the water shotgun technique instead fires a cluster of six water bullets from up to two fingers. Taiga also developed the Hardened Water Technique, a technique which gathers the most dense oxygen and hydrogen molecules together, essentially hardening the body. It is so dense, in fact, that Taiga is able to use the technique to defend himself from lightning-based techniques.
Kinjutsu
Taiga has trained in kinjutsu, the art of using curse marks, since he found that he had the Curse Mark of the Sun at the age of five. He is able to manipulate the curse mark masterfully, having lived with it most of his childhood, and has unlocked all of the curse's secrets. When the curse mark is active, orange-red markings spread outward and cover parts of his body. The curse mark helps him to enhance his Fire Release and Scorch Release techniques while also increasing his overall chakra volume. It even enables the use of specific Scorch Release techniques that could not be used without the curse mark. In addition, Taiga was also able to unlock another powerful secret of the curse mark: its ability to counter genjutsu. The curse mark is able to both absorb and negate genjutsu but utilizing a space time barrier within the curse mark. The only drawback to this is that the curse mark must be activated prior to the casting of the occular genjutsu; this does not apply to non-ocular genjutsu, however.
Genjutsu Negation
The Curse Mark of the Sun is rather unique when compared to other curse marks in that it has the power to negate genjutsu. By utilizing his curse mark, Taiga is able to pull the chakra used to cast the genjutsu into his body, thus canceling the effects of the genjutsu. This technique can be used on any genjutsu, although it is much harder to negate ocular genjutsu as compared to non-ocular. It can even be used on genjutsu that is spread across a wide area or genjutsu that is overlapping one another.
Genjutsu Absorption
Like the Curse Mark of the Sun's ability to negate genjutsu, the curse mark can also absorb genjutsu. By utilizing his curse mark, Taiga is able to pull both the chakra used to cast the genjutsu and the effects that the genjutsu would have had on him into his body, this fully absorbing the technique. This technique can be used on both non-ocular genjutsu but it takes more chakra to use and more time. Taiga has come to find, though, that it is easier to absorb ocular genjutsu rather than negating it so he uses this technique for ocular genjutsu.
Genjutsu
Although he does not use any genjutsu himself, Taiga has become adept in detecting the use of genjutsu. He has thoroughly trained all of his senses to detect genjutsu and has even familiarized himself with some of the hand seals commonly used in genjutsu techniques. With this knowledge, he has become very sensitive to non-occular genjutsu. He is able to easily determine the characteristics of the non-occular genjutsu, including the range of the technique, the number of individuals casting it and if he is in a genjutsu at the moment. If he determines that he is in a non-occular genjutsu, he is able to counter it by activating his Curse Mark of the Sun. This applies differently with ocular genjutsu, though, including the genjutsu techniques utilized by the Sharingan. Taiga is unable to detect ocular genjutsu, however, so when he is fighting individuals who utilize ocular genjutsu, he immediately activates his curse mark.
Physical Prowess & Chakra
Like his predecessor Kisame Hoshigaki, Taiga is a beast in regards to physical strength. He can lift objects that would easily kill any normal shinobi, such as giant boulders and large summoned creatures. This massive physical strength is also beneficial to him in hand-to-hand combat, as well, and allows him to easily overwhelm his opponents. A simple punch or kick can easily spell death for any unprepared or run-of-the-mill shinobi. Also, like his unparalleled physical strength, Taiga also possesses a large, almost immeasurable volume of chakra. This enables him to use powerful techniques, such as Water Release: Exploding Water Colliding Wave, several times a day with little to no drain on his chakra network.

History
Taiga was born in the village of Kirigakure approximately five years before the Fourth Shinobi World War. When he turned three, he began training alongside his mother and father in various ninja skills. Taiga was put under a lot of pressure during this time by his parents in order to maintain the family image. As such, he would often train alone to supplement the training he received from his parents. This prepared him well for the academy, which he started the fall after his fifth birthday while his parents where participating in the war. Taiga received even more pressure in the academy than he did from his parents; his instructors, peers, and clansmen all turned to him for guidance. He was always the center of attention and was looked upon to have the best grades and behavior. Taiga detested this high level of attention, however, and would often train in the surrounding woods of Kirigakure by himself. During these bizarre training sessions, Taiga managed to learn a few different water release techniques and began to associate himself with the Hydrification Technique. He also awakened the Curse Mark of the Sun during his training sessions, sparking instantaneous controversy within his clan. The curse mark greatly enhances his fire release and Inferno Release techniques but it is considered a sign of bad omen. His clansmen immediately started vilifying him for this and this trend quickly spread throughout the village. In fact, by the time of his graduation at the age of seven, even the students and instructors joined in vilifying him. To make matters worse, his mother Mei was defeated and subsequently killed in a battle with Fuyuki over the title of Mizukage. This seemed to have a very negative effect on Taiga while also sparking his deep seated hatred of Fuyuki. Amid all the terrible developments and occurrences in his life, Taiga still graduated from the academy at the top of his class. After graduation, however, Taiga secluded himself entirely from the village and was very rarely seen outside of his house, a feat made conceivable by the Hydrification Technique. Taiga built a house in the woods for himself and would only come in to the village for supplies, so long as his father or sister did not deliver them to him. If he was called upon for a mission, he would quietly and begrudgingly accept the mission when called upon by Fuyuki. He did not stop training, however, and continued to seek ever more power while training in the woods. As he trained, he awakened his second nature, fire release, as well as the clan's kekkei genkai, Inferno Release. Not too long after he awakened both of these natures, he was promoted to chūnin rank after successful passing the chūnin exams. His teammates did not pass the exam, however, as Taiga inadvertently killed them while participating in the second portion of the exam. After he became a chūnin, Taiga was vilified further for killing his teammates during the exam and quietly returned to his life of solitarily. At this point, he began to train in the mastering of the clan's hiden technique, the Hydrification Technique. Not much was heard of Taiga after this until age fifteen, at which point he was promoted to Jōnin rank. During a mission as a jōnin, Taiga rescued a young, female wolf while on a mission and returned her back to her wolf pack. He later signed a contract with the pack which enabled him to summon wolves. He later returned to the village, finally seeking revenge on Fuyuki with an attempted assassination, which was inevitably botched. He left the village with his sister, this being the last thing anyone ever heard from Taiga.
