The Tensei clan (天声一族, Tensei Ichizoku) was one of the minor clans from the Land of Fire that was united by Hashirama Senju when he founded Konohagakure. They are known for their skill with learning jutsu of high rank, such as Koga's learning of Space-Time techniques, as well as being known for their strong chakra.

After Naruto Uzumaki, the last of the Uzumaki clan, is fatally wounded during the Fourth Great Shinobi War, Koga Tensei becomes the first non-Uzumaki to become the Nine-Tailed Fox's host.

History

The Tensei clan, along with the Senju, Uchiha, Hyūga, Nara and Uzumaki clans, were part of the original clans of the Land of Fire. It was the third clan to appear in the Land, after the Senju and Uchiha and is thought to be a decedent of the Sage of Six Path's elder son just like the Uchiha are. The founder of the Tensei clan was in fact a distant cousin of the late Madara Uchiha though the two had very poor relationships. They did, however, have a fair relationship with the Senju and would often fight alongside them whenever conflicts with the Uchiha arose. When Hashirama Senju proposed to build Konohagakure, the Tensei clan was one of the many clans that joined him in constructing it, thus taking up residence there, while the Uzumaki clan went to the Land of Whirlpools to found their own Hidden Village.

Hierarchy

Several of the Tensei clan leaders became Daimyo of the Land of Fire due to their exceptional leadership. Tensei clan leaders were given the title of marquis (侯爵, kōshaku) and then went on to be Daimyo until the Second Great Shinobi War when it became popular to vote for a leader of the Land.

Trivia

  • Many traits from the Tensei clan can be found in the Koga clan of Japan's past.
    • The Koga clan is also the origin of Koga Tensei's first name.
