Waishō (わいしょう, Waishō) is an owl summon from the Dark Forest, and one of the owl sages, serving the Great Owl Sage. He is also the personal summon of Ryun Uchiha.

Personality

Despite his appearance, Waishō is actually an old owl, who has decades worth of experience and wisdom; proofed by the fact that he advises the Great Owl Sage. He is also a very kind owl, who seeks to help and personally train those who are deemed worthy of learning Sage Mode from the owls.

Even in intense battle situations, Waishō can remain completely calm, due to his decades of battle experience. He views the Great Owl Sage as a father-figure, though he has referred to him as "old and crippled" before, during a disagreement with the Sage.

Prior to Ryun's arrival during the midst of the Second Shinobi World War, Waishō had refused to be a summon for anyone with an owl summoning contract, including Shōyō Kawahiru, who was a highly revered shinobi in his own right. However, upon seeing Ryun's determination and resolve, he not only trained Ryun in senjutsu, but became his personal summon.

Appearance

Waishō is a pygmy owl with light brown body feathers, white under feathers, and two diagonal, dark brown markings on his face. His neck feathers appear as somewhat of a collar, a common trait of owl sages.
