The Yonkō (四幸, Four Fortunes), formerly known as Team Shōyō (倡佯の分隊, Shōyō no Butai), was a term used to address the four most powerful rouge shinobi alive. Each were almost equal to each other in power, and the group had no real leader. Though they did fight together on some occasions, mostly, the four Yonkō were large rivals with each other.

History[]

The Yonkō were made up of four shinobi from Konohagakure that banded together during the events of the Second Shinobi World War. Specifically, the group banded together during the fighting in the Land of Mountains. The four were originally members of the Genin team, Team Shōyō, under the guidance of Shōyō Kawahiru.

Overview[]

The first known contact between members of this group was a battle between Ryun Uchiha and Seireitou Hyūga, which is said to have birthed the two's rivalry.

Though the group was known to fight against significant threats, they rarely fought as one unit. In fact, most of the time, the group fought among themselves, trying to determine who was the strongest Yonkō, though none has ever been decided upon. Because of the looseness of the group, there is no official leader, though each member of the Yonkō have taken turns in a "leading" role when the group needs it most.

Each of the Yonkō are said to be Kage-level or above, a testament to how powerful each member is.

Rivalries[]

Throughout the history of the Yonkō, there have been three distinct rivalries emerge.

  1. Seireitou-Ryun: Perhaps the most prominent rivalry in the group; Ryun and Seireitou represent a typical Uchiha-Senju esque rivalry, with Seireitou embodying the Will of Fire, while Ryun embodies the Uchiha's Curse of Hatred. The two are very close friends, and respect each other the most, but have a deep rivalry with one another, that leads to climactic battles; often damaging large portions of their surroundings.
  2. Seireitou-Echo: Unlike any of the other Yonkō rivalries, Seireitou and Echo's seem to be born out of a deep disdain and mistrust for one another. Both think they are superior to the other, which only furthers their desire to fight each other.
  3. Seireitou-Hikaru: Seireitou views Hikaru as an obstacle he must surpass in order to realize his true potential. This rivalry seems to be one-sided, as Hikaru never shows much interesting in besting Seireitou in combat.

Trivia[]

  • Ryun and Seireitou's rivalry closely resembles that of Madara Uchiha and Hashirama Senju's own rivalry.
  • The term "Yonkō" is likely a homage to the group of the same name from the series One Piece, though the group from the aforementioned series has the katakana (もちろん) meaning "Four Emperors", while this group uses the kanji (四幸), meaning "four fortunes".
  • Some elements of the Yonkō are inspired by the Sanada Ten Braves.
